Each year, Chelmsford Borough Council offers a number of free sports sessions during the summer school holidays. This summer the Parish 'Sports and Play' programme will run from Monday 2 August to Thursday 19 August. Sessions are funded by local Parish and Town Councils and involve multi- sports and sports specific sessions at their chosen venue. Thursday 29 July 2010 Participants aged between 6 - 14 years can simply come along for free and play fun games, competitions and coaching in a variety of sports. This year sees the introduction of 'Play in the Park' to each session. There is no need to book, but spaces are limited. All activities are free as they are subsidised by the local Parish Council. Savernake Park on the Westlands estate will be hosting sessions for children aged 6 -16 in partnership with Nacro and CHP. There will be multi-sports, Parkour, and Boxercise classes available.
