The UK's Biggest Outdoor Festival for Pre-School Children is Back!

This year, The 3foot People Festival reaches its fifth birthday and celebrates with three days of wonder for those aged under five years old. Tickets for this year's event go on sale on Tuesday 2 June 2009.

Managed by Chelmsford Borough Council, the event will take place in Central Park, Chelmsford between 9.30am – 3pm on Wednesday 1, Thursday 2 and Friday 3 July 2009. Last year, tickets for this event sold out in just two days, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The festival will include arts and crafts workshops, singing and dancing, a soft play area to enable children to roll around and show off their acrobatic skills, spectacular science shows by 'Mad Science' and a new mini farm. Elsewhere on site, toddlers will be able to enjoy the ever-popular show tent, storytellers and a giant sand pit.

Throughout the festival, parenting organisations will be available to answer questions and offer advice to adult carers who wish to find out more. There will be a café area offering a selection of drinks, snacks, vegetarian options, cakes and ice cream, as well as bottle-warming facilities and space to take time out from the festival's many activities.

Chelmsford Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, Councillor Ray Ride said: "The 3foot People Festival is a unique event for Chelmsford and as far as we are aware, it is the only one of its kind in the whole country. It has become an extremely popular date in the Chelmsford events calendar and tickets sell out in record time each year."

Tickets are only available to purchase in advance of the event, and go on sale on Tuesday 2 June. Tickets cost £1 for children under two years (including babies) and £4 for children aged between two and five years. Tickets for adult carers also cost £4.
