Slavery Remembrance Day is 23 August and Chelmsford Borough Council is commemorating it with a celebration of African and Caribbean culture at Chelmsford Museum.

V-Festival Disruption at Hylands
Hylands Estate will be disrupted between 2 August and 29 August due to the V-Festival. Notice is given that during the preparation of the 2008 V Festival certain parts of Hylands Park will be difficult to reach due to vehicles and machinery operating in these areas. For safety reasons the only public entrance to the park for visitors in cars, between 4 August and 24 August will be by the Hylands House entrance off the A414 dual carriageway (old A12).
